Fruit and Veg centre launches new website

Release Date: April 27, 2011

The Adelaide Produce Market, the distribution and marketing centre for South Australia’s fruit and vegetables, have launched their new website – www.adelaidemarkets.com.au

The new website has more information, is easier to navigate and will now list the products our wholesalers and growers sell each morning. Other features of the new website include tenancy and safety information, copies of previous media releases, information on their retail development program, the Crunch Bunch characters, price reporting, plus many more other marketing initiatives.

“Given our leading role in the industry, we felt it was important to have a fresh new website that was top-notch; easy and use and had as much up-to-date information as possible for retailers, the media and other interested parties to use”, Adelaide Produce Market spokesperson Julian Carbone said.

The Adelaide Produce Market is South Australia’s only commercial wholesaling market, catering for the exchange and sale of fresh fruit and vegetables between growers, wholesalers, supermarkets, greengrocers, food processors, exporters and providores. An estimated 185,000 tonnes of fresh produce passes through the Adelaide Produce Market system each year, with an estimated wholesale value of $600 million.

“I’m hopeful the new website will become the first port of call for anyone wanting information on the local fresh produce industry”, Mr Carbone said.

The website was developed by Blis Web Agency.
