Leading radio station 107.1 SAFM to drum-up support for fresh local produce
Release Date: September 14, 2011
Starting next week, radio announcers from 107.1 SAFM will be visiting local greengrocers and participating Foodland stores in a bid to inspire healthier eating and encourage customers to purchase fresh produce from independent retailers.
“We are pleased to have SAFM on board for this worthy cause,” Adelaide Produce Market spokesperson Julian Carbone said.
Working with the Adelaide Produce Market, once a month a radio announcer from the station will visit a store and mingle with staff and customers and interview them on fruit and vegetables. This interview will then be played on air the following day.
The Adelaide Produce Market has an existing relationship with SAFM, running Fresh Market Reports on the station every Thursday morning at 8:50am to promote fresh produce that is good in supply. These reports also promote their health benefits and ideal recipes.
The first visit is scheduled for next week at Mount Barker Fresh Markets (Mt Barker), followed by Tropical Fruit Market (Modbury), Caruso’s Fresh Food (Glenelg), Get Fresh Findon (Findon) and Carousel Fruit Barn (Oaklands Park) in the following months. Further in-store visits are scheduled for next year.
