New awareness campaign to encourage younger people to eat more fruit and veg starts next week!
Release Date: August 09, 2011
Armed with 2010 MasterChef finalist Callum Hann and a regiment of local greengrocers and fresh produce managers, the Adelaide Produce Market is launching its new awareness campaign next week to encourage younger people to incorporate more fresh fruit and vegetables in their daily diet.
The television commercials, branded Burst of Freshness will air across all channels during well targeted programs and are designed to convince consumers that eating healthy doesn’t mean lots of hours in the kitchen.
“Callum and local greengrocers will be appearing in commercials, talking about in-season recipes that is quick, easy and amazingly healthy for you”, Adelaide Produce Market spokesperson Julian Carbone said.
“These recipes will change each fortnight, to reflect changing seasons and to allow viewers to try something different, including soups, curries, salads and even healthy desserts. There will be something for everyone and every occasion,” Mr Carbone said.
Recipe cards will then be made available in participating stores for customers to pick up and try at home.
“Our consumer research shows people aged 20-35 years don’t tend to make meals at home consisting of fruit and vegetables due to time restraints. However the Adelaide Produce Market has scoured through hundreds of recipes to find ones that are incredibly quick and easy to make, and as they are all endorsed Go for 2&5 recipes, they are all also very healthy for you”, Mr Carbone said.
Appearing alongside Callum, the first series of commercials will show Angelo “AJ” Palmer from Hahndorf Fruit & Veg, Jamie Fragnito from Mt Barker Fresh Markets, Jana Abi-Farraj from Tropical Triangle Fruit Market, Sam Girardi from Foodland Munno Para and Tarsch Blacker from TCs Fruit & Veg.
