South Australian potato farmer wins National Award for innovative marketing

The Adelaide Produce Market is delighted that a South Australian potato farmer won an award at the AusVeg National Convention last weekend.
The Mitolo Group won the highly contended Innovative Marketing Award for its recent efforts in promoting their new low GI potato variety, Carisma.
The award was sponsored by the Central Markets Association of Australia (CMAA) which represents of the six central markets in Australia, including the Adelaide Produce Market.
Adelaide Produce Market CEO Angelo Demasi presented the Award and stated to over 500 invited guests, “In a world of growing levels of convenience and competition in the food sector, the CMAA understands and appreciates the role of marketing and its ability to help convince more Australians to buy, cook and consume more vegetables in their daily diet”.
The Innovative Market Award recognises and celebrates an Australian company or individual who has been able to create an innovative marketing solution, process or program and create new market opportunities for a vegetable, including potato.
“From a personal perspective, I was thrilled to be able to present this national award to a local South Australian owned and operated family business”, Mr Demasi said after the awards presentation.
