Weekly “Market Report” launched on 107.1 SAFM
Release Date: May 11, 2011
The distribution and marketing centre for South Australia’s fruit and vegetables have launched an exciting new initiative to get more people eating and enjoying local fresh produce.
Commencing July, the Adelaide Produce Market will run a weekly radio segment on 107.1 SAFM just before the 9am news every Thursday morning. It will be an interactive segment between SAFM presenter Abby Coleman and representatives from the market and is expected to be fun, casual and include easy cooking recipes and tips.
“This light-hearted market report will focus on the latest in local fresh produce and help guide listeners as to what they might like to cook for dinner tonight,” Adelaide Produce Market spokesperson Julian Carbone said.
“Our intention is to get younger people, especially Generation Y, excited and interested in fruit and vegetables. We will be informing listeners on which products are in season, in good supply and what easy recipes would be ideal to cook at the moment,” Mr Carbone said.
For the past few months, the market has successfully run an interactive market report segment on 107.9 LIFE FM on Thursday mornings at 6:10am and at 8:10am. This segment will continue between market representatives and LIFE FM presenter Mike Smith.
