Women pose nude with vegetables in the midst of a juice revolution

Release Date: January 20, 2012

The Adelaide Produce Market is reporting that South Australia is in the midst of a vegetable juice revolution, with a new local company entering the lucrative healthy, natural vegetable juice market in the wake of fledging consumer demand.

Juice Revolution is the latest Adelaide-based company to tap into the growing market by offering a healthy juice cleansing program, promising to re-boot the body of unhealthy toxins. The company launched this month with co-founders Tina McPhee and Lesley Marchioro already reporting the company has received hundreds of orders within their first few weeks of operating. “The response and interest in our products has been truly amazing, despite us only just launching the website a few weeks ago and not having a retail presence,” Ms McPhee said. Juice Revolution receives orders via their website and delivers directly to the customer’s door.

Both Tina and Lesley took the brave step of posing naked with locally-grown vegetables used in the juice. “We posed nude to emphasis the benefits of juicing, the natural organic essence of our product and our creative and artistic personalities,” Ms McPhee said.

The Adelaide Produce Market, who supplies supermarkets, greengrocers, exporters and restaurants and other such retailers across South Australia, has noticed a dramatic shift in consumer buying patterns, with more consumers opting for fresh juice made from local vegetables. “With just 11% of adults consuming the recommended 5 serves of vegetables per day, we are optimistic that this new trend of vegetable juice will help people consume more vegetables and reach a healthier diet,” spokesperson Julian Carbone said.

Get Fresh owner Frank Dinino has noticed the shift first hand since opening a healthy juice bar along Findon Road in 2005. With sales tripling mostly due to positive word of mouth, Get Fresh have since opened a further two juice bars and plans are currently underway for more. “This is definitely not a fad. People love the juice and because it’s healthy, freshly made and has all the nutrients required from a wide selection of vegetables, my customers keep coming back for more,” Mr Dininio said.

Companies such as Boost Juice, Get Fresh and Juice Revolution all source their locally-grown produce through the Adelaide Produce Market.
